Free 5GB of space on a drive in the clouds.  You can't lose it if your computer crashes.  You can store music, photos... anything.  Thats a decent amount of free storage.

Here is my only problem with Amazon.  When I bought my Kindle two years ago NY Times Bestsellers were $9.99.  Then we remember my Kindle was stolen with my laptop.  I did replace my Kindle from Ebay but now NY Times Bestsellers are $12.99!  Thats quite a jump.  Considering the hard copy books from Amazon are not that much more.

My advice is to sign up and get the free 5GB for free but don't go over that storage amount. 

 

 

March Madness and the Office

I have four March Madness pools going.  Last year I went from last place (67th) to second and won second place with Duke!  This year I'm loving BYU. 

I try to put my March "madness" in check while I am at work.  Sometimes its not too esay.  If you have to check your brackets try to do it at lunch or on break.  Show your employer a little respect. This article reports that companies lose billions of productivity dollars during March Madness - Yikes!

Good luck everyone in your brackets this year and if you win, send some of that dough over to Japan!

Proofreading

I admit, I am the worst proofreader on the planet.  OK let me clarify, I cannot proofread my own work, God bless me... I can see someone else's mistake a from across the room.  I used to think it was my poor vision, but that wouldn't explain how I could only find OPMs (Other People's Mistakes) now would it?

I found a really terrific article with lots of good advice,  great links and even some practical reader comments to help you (and me) become better proofreaders.  Its true a computer cannot proofread -- only a human can!

Wonderlic Test

I have become totally fascinated with all the new employment tests.  Recently I was speaking to my friend Rose who has been my friend since the Bronze Age and she was asked to take the Wonderlic test as part of the hiring process.  I never heard of the test.  So, I went looking for it. 

It turns out that the NFL uses it to test the intelligence of football players prior to the draft.  I took the test and got only one wrong.  So either I would make one awesome tight end or the test is ridiculously simple.
